EUR1 Customs Authentication
What is an EUR1 movement certificate?
An EUR1 Movement Certificate is used to support claims for preferential rates of duty in the country of importation. To qualify, the goods must be of UK preferential origin and be supported by a correctly completed and endorsed EUR1, plus any other requested documentation. Please note, the preference system only applies to countries where certain trade agreements exist with the UK.
What countries can I get an EUR1 for?
You can have an EUR1 if there is a trade agreement between the UK and the relevant country. Details of the trade agreements are available here
How do I apply for an EUR1 movement certificate?
If not already registered, you can register to our secure online service on www.ecert.sgs.com selecting Sussex Chamber of Commerce as your Chamber. Once your account is approved, you can apply for the EUR1 on eCert, requesting either:
- An ‘express’ application, which is electronically stamped by us so you can print on the original EUR1
OR
- A ‘standard’ application which is manually stamped by us and posted back to you. Some Countries do not accept scanned signatures, so you would have to apply for a Standard Application in these instances.
Please complete the EUR1 in accordance with the example above.
Once accepted the EUR1 is authenticated by us on behalf of HM Revenue & Customs.
You will also need to complete and email to us the attached Formal Undertaking and Signature List for your company that will need to be updated annually.
Members receive up to 50% discount on most export documents. For more information on any of the above, contact the team on [email protected]
