Transit Document (TAD / T1)

What is a Transit Document (TAD / T1)?

Transit customs procedures facilitate the transport of goods across different customs territories, taxes and duty collection is suspended until the goods are declared for import by the importer, or they have entered another regime with a relevant debtor e.g. warehousing, inward processing, or re-export.

A TAD shows an MRN unique reference to the Transit movement and will be linked to the Export MRN. (The TAD would cover all the goods transported by the haulier and will be based on the route that the haulier intends to take.)

Using the Customs Transit procedure allows for the temporary suspension of duties, taxes and commercial policy measures that are applicable.
