13 Healys’ Lawyers Ranked in This Year’s Independent Legal Bible
Healys LLP have again achieved an increase in its top tier ranking in the Legal 500. This year a team of 13 lawyers have been accredited as specialists within their sectors. The Legal 500 directory provides the most comprehensive worldwide coverage on legal services providers, in over 100 countries.
For the 7th consecutive year Healys’ Professional Negligence department has been recognised in the directory and this is the 2ndsuccessive year of improved ranking. This Legal 500 comments, “Healys LLP regularly acts for claimants in cases against solicitors, barristers, architects, surveyors, financial advisers and accountants. Department head Robert Johnson is ‘incisive and attentive, responding instantly to queries with clear answers and explanations’; he is advising two Cayman Islands-based companies in a £25m case against a firm of solicitors and its three individual partners. The ‘brilliant’ Jerome O’Sullivan is the leading advisor for the claimant in a £1.1m dispute against two firms of solicitors in relation to a fraudulent property transaction. David Bailey is experienced in acting for financial institutions in cases against solicitors and valuers and Adrian Taylor, who recently joined from Rosenblatt, is also noted.”
Healys’ Media department has again been ranked, with Legal 500 commenting “Healys LLP’s expertise spans publishing, broadcasting, music, digital media, TV and film and it handles a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. It advised Empress Films on a private investor finance agreement; advised Huda Cotran on an investment proposal for the launch of a daytime television channel; and acted for Hereford Films on a post-production agreement with BCL Finance. Brighton-based department head Nicholas Taylor specialises in media disputes, and is active across defamation, IP and rights protection cases. Martin John handles non-contentious matters media law matters and consultant Andrew Sparrow is experienced in commercial digital media instructions.”
For the third year running, Healys’ Immigration department has achieved a ranking in the directory. The department has increased its ranking from last year in the Immigration: Human Rights, Appeals and Overstay category.
